FAQ
Research Guide — FAQ
Does Research Guide ever create studies in my workspace without me confirming?
No. Every new survey, interview study, or AI-participant plan comes through as a draft you preview first. Confirm, and the study is created. Nothing lands silently.
Can it answer questions about any study in my workspace?
Yes. Attach up to five studies per session — surveys, interviews, or a mix — and the guide will triangulate themes, flag contradictions, and run longitudinal comparisons across them. You can also swap attached studies mid-conversation without losing chat history when you want to focus on one at a time.
What happens if I ask about a demographic slice the study didn't collect?
The guide refuses the slice and tells you which tags are available. It won't invent numbers or quotes.
Does it work in languages other than English?
Yes. If an interview study has English translations of non-English transcripts, the guide will reason over those. Primary transcripts stay primary — the resolver is explicit about which variant was chosen for each answer.
How is this different from the Research Guide field guide?
The AI Research Assistant (also called "Research Guide") is a feature inside the Qualz dashboard — an AI partner you chat with. The Research Guide field guide is our free public educational resource with chapters, frameworks, and a glossary on how to do product, UX, and market research. Same word, two different things.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. Email service@qualz.ai and we'll switch it off for your workspace. When it's off, the Research Guide button is hidden and the rest of the dashboard works as usual.
What if I want a human partner on a project, not just the AI?
We have you covered. On our Enterprise tier, Research Guide is paired with a senior research partner — a Qualz researcher who helps craft the study, steward fieldwork, and do the deep analysis alongside you. See Human-in-the-Loop Analysis.
Who can I talk to if Research Guide isn't the right tool?
Anywhere in the conversation, ask "talk to a researcher" or email service@qualz.ai. A Qualz researcher will pick up.
Is my data used to train models?
No. Research Guide uses retrieval and tool-calling against your data within your session — not training. Conversations persist for your own audit, but are not used to train foundation models.
I have a feature request — where does it go?
Email service@qualz.ai with "Research Guide: <feature>" in the subject. Feature requests route directly to the team.
